I use a small 110 Hobart and good enough for me. Still trying to figure out my phone, damn thing is smarter than me and pisses me off.Had just enough for a new phone when my welder quit in the middle of a job. Had to buy a new welder. Its taking a little getting used to. Its all automated and ****.
I laughed at that one Fred. Hobarts are plenty good. My last employer had them. I like the start-up of the lincolns better but we are splitting hairs here. My last welder didn't owe me anything, that's for sure. I wanted a little more oomph this time. This baby will do 3/8 in one pass in the 220 mode. Its just weird not having dials with numbers on them.I use a small 110 Hobart and good enough for me. Still trying to figure out my phone, damn thing is smarter than me and pisses me off.
Not cheep I like a Lincoln and would have one but got mine slightly used for 150 bucks so it will do.

Yup. .030 is tough on thin metal. Doable with skill and leaves room for heavier welding.I figured I was f ink up I’m using my buddy’s wire feed with .030 on lowest setting and still blowing holes through the valiant . Rusty thing .
