Had just enough for a new phone when my welder quit in the middle of a job. Had to buy a new welder. Its taking a little getting used to. Its all automated and ****.
I use a small 110 Hobart and good enough for me. Still trying to figure out my phone, damn thing is smarter than me and pisses me off.

I laughed at that one Fred. Hobarts are plenty good. My last employer had them. I like the start-up of the lincolns better but we are splitting hairs here. My last welder didn't owe me anything, that's for sure. I wanted a little more oomph this time. This baby will do 3/8 in one pass in the 220 mode. Its just weird not having dials with numbers on them.

This was at one of my boys wedding I am the old soaked and wet guy. Was raining and I am the one to bring the cake in without getting it wet. Cake did good but not me. lol
All my kids and grand kids but missing 3 grand kids. Tell your wife we will be over for dinner and we like Prime Rib. That should freak her out BP.

Wow. Just WOW. We like prime rib too. Too bad we suck at cooking it. You can take us out for it.

Is that your wife next to you? Good looking family ya got the Fred. I'm sure I don't have to tell you to be proud.

Not my wife she died about 15 years before this picture. I never remarried and plan on keeping it that way.

Wholly crap you guys were busy today , all I got is it’s gonna be cold -3 tonight +3 during the day no rain is a positive , I need to buy a wire feed , what diameter wire are you guys using on ,the body panels ?

Well galdangit, Jeff got us started on the whiskey at like 3:00 my time. HA
.023 or so on the wire for sheet metal. Different manufacturer's vary a little. Tips too.
I like using .030 tips with .024 ish wire.

Lincoln just changed out to metric threads on their tips. Pretty sure I just bought a life time supply for like 12 bucks.

I figured I was f ink up I’m using my buddy’s wire feed with .030 on lowest setting and still blowing holes through the valiant . Rusty thing .

Yup. .030 is tough on thin metal. Doable with skill and leaves room for heavier welding.

Oh I got skills ....at blowing holes in thin rusty sheet metal
