Going to be fantastic weather for Autofest this weekend in town. Starts tonight closing down the 4 corners and surrounding streets with a live band and vendors and lot and lot of cars. Guys drive around with headers open and the cops look the other way unless they get too swirly. Not taking my car down there...too many bikes, baby strollers, pets, kids and panhandlers etc. Saturday and Sunday will be the car show at the park at the lake. Expecting 1200-1500 cars and always a great show.
I don't put my car in that show but my buddy and I go and do the walk around and I get in for free as well. (Pays to know guys in the club who puts it on) I'll drive down to the show on Sunday morning and sit with my friend from the club and watch the cars come in. Sunday we have my wife's family reunion (a yearly event on this weekend)

Morning Mark sounds like your gonna be busy and have lots of fun.
 
So I was digging around in the truck for the dog treats Fred traded me on the seat deal and found a nice bottle of whiskey! Honking Fred is sneaky. For whatever reason we always seem to have a blast when we run into each other! I think mostly cause he has spent his entire life in body shop and can't hear. I can cuss him all day and he just nods and agrees! So we are at the restaurant and I am explaining since I was in town looking at tractors the business can buy us lunch so neither one of us needs to get in our wallets. So we are very quietly (Hah) debating the merits of such an arrangement as only two deaf guys can when Fred in his best whisper (not) drops some serious F bomb at the table emphatically explaining he was getting the check. We both start howling as I admit defeat. Waiter thinks we are crazy at this point. Had I known that I would have ordered steak! Great day at car show!

Yea had fun for sure always enjoy your company and met some new friends at the car show.

Only a few real nice cars there FOG that I liked the Demon that SLO posted pics of was a gem.
Some kids had a few cars that were wrapped instead of painted and was OK but looked fake and no talent put into the body at all. Just buy the part wrap it and good enough.
 
Two friends and I went downtown last night. Huge crowds and they had to close off more streets because of the cars that came in. One guy had a 63 Nova strictly a drag car. He fired it up and a cop was standing not 100 feet away. I think he enjoyed it just as much as everyone else was. The noise echoed between the buildings which amplified it. Sure turned some heads. We had a fun time and met some old friends which is even better. Should be a good time at the park today. Oh...morning guys.

Downtown last night there was a beautiful 68-69 Dart 2 dr. Just a real sleeper with hubcaps but under the hood had a Hellcat engine with a fully built suspension. The build was just beautiful...real clean and simple. Didn't see it at the show today but may have come in after we left but probably there tomorrow. I may go down there with my car and park outside the front gates and watch the cars come and go at the front gate. Have a great evening guys.
 
Kids and grands came for dinner, 4 little rug rats running around with Nerf guns chasing me.
I am a tired puppy but a happy one.

I think I'll be going to the car show this morning just to watch the cars go in and out of the show. They have the AMC Ontario chapter there. They had a pretty good turnout considering. There were 21 AMC registered and so far 19 showed up. 2 friends have their AMX's in the show. Have a great day

I don't see a lot of AMC's around here the AMX is my favorite of corse.
Was gonna go to the Minot drags today and watch a friend race but raining cats and dogs so will stay home.

I am kinda fond of the Gremlin. My sister drove us to school in one.

A funny story. A friend of mine had a rot bucket Gremlin his dad bought him to drive to school. One day he stopped at the local gas station and when his friend opened the passenger door it fell off the car. They strapped it to the roof to go home. His dad stick welded it back on with barn hinges to the front fender.
