The cold sure does get old. Been pretty moderate around here. I can get some stuff done outdoors once in a while.Got in touch with SLO today and said he's been working 7 days a week and haven't been working on his car. Poor guy is tired of North Dakota winters and is having a hard time cooping with the cold.
Not to bad here been up and down on temp. but still a mild winter so far.The cold sure does get old. Been pretty moderate around here. I can get some stuff done outdoors once in a while.
YIKES $37 a sheet!. Why not fiberglass? be nice to have more than r-10 in the lid.Not sure if I told you guys but in the barn I have plastic stapled to the refters to help hold heat. The walls are all done with R13 pink and 1/2 OSB so I am starting to insulate the rafters. I am going to use 2 inch foam board over the plastic. The board has an R10 value but is expensive so it may take a year or 2 to get done. It is 37 dollars a sheet here and will take 50 sheets.
40 X 50 I figured foam board because of weight. R10 plus the vapor barrier of plastic I figured might be enough. The other reason is when the 20 foot wide door is open wind plus glass on top of it would rip the staples through the plastic and bring it down.YIKES $37 a sheet!. 40x40?
Wow $ 1,850.00 plus tax !40 X 50 I figured foam board because of weight. R10 plus the vapor barrier of plastic I figured might be enough. The other reason is when the 20 foot wide door is open wind plus glass on top of it would rip the staples through the plastic and bring it down.
OK I get it. There will not be a lid so to speak. I have some of that blue stuff in a compressor shack and something is mining it. I haven't figured out what it is yet but haven't trierd too hard yet. I got some for free. I'm using it mostly for sound control.40 X 50 I figured foam board because of weight. Actually he needs 62.5 4x8 sheets.Wow $ 1,850.00 plus tax !
Yup I dont know how I came up with 50 lol must have been the beers while I was planning it.Actually he needs 62.5 4x8 sheets.
Not cheap by any means to build a barn for working in during the winter. I figure when I am done it will be 7500 into sealing the walls and ceiling with insulation. Plus the cost to build should put me near 30 grand.Wow $ 1,850.00 plus tax !
Did you check into spray foam?Just like a car it is best not to keep track of how much you spent on it.
Thinking the same thought BP expensive but I here is the best.Did you check into spray foam?

No I did not. The walls are done already and being a shingled roof it need air moving under the wood or the shingles would die quick. It took 8 years to get the walls done. lolThinking the same thought BP expensive but I here is the best.
I see what your saying that makes sense. No I did not. The walls are done already and being a shingled roof it need air moving under the wood or the shingles would die quick. It took 8 years to get the walls done. lol
Great timesGrand kids are making cookies so that should make them fly off the walls. lol
Been having a great time but I guarantee you I'll need a rest when they leave.
I heard just the opposite. I'm not trying to talk you into it but my cousin used to do it. He says it's better than a vented attic but he's trying to sell too, so more research would be needed. I was thinking of using it in my attached garage. No I did not. The walls are done already and being a shingled roof it need air moving under the wood or the shingles would die quick. I know in a home if you insulate the back side of the roof you need to install the foam board they sell that keeps an air gap to the roof boards to allow air to flow between the insulation and the roof board.I heard just the opposite.
