Yes, retired and do more at home then I did at work at times, we have to keep busy to keep on keeping on

Looks like another mild day so get rid of some of this white crap. BEAUTY!!
Going to be some rain, some snow mixed most of the week then into the freezer on Sat but at least it'll be sunny.
Dull rainy days can be depressing sometimes, I know it affects me but this year has been fairly good for me.

I changed out the water in the hot tub yesterday and finally changed the motor mounts on the thing
It has a simple 3 phase electronic motor on it that I replaced last year
while i was in there i noticed the motor was simply bolted to the frame with 4 1/4-20 bolts
i got all the stuff to replace those bolts (and the 2x4 it sat on) with some rubber insulators but never got round to doing it
i finally took the time to do it and it is crazy how much quieter it is
it used to be that i could hear the motor kick on in the upstairs bathroom, or in the main level bath and garage (the hot tub sits above the garage)
now, i have to go through the upstairs bathroom into the sauna to hear it, and i cant hear it downstairs at all

Hot tub sounds real good right about now and a quite one.
My house furnace is forced air and the damn fan makes lots of noise. Not any rattling noise just the air going through the fan. Need to see if I can slow the blade down some.

it is a great place to retreat to
specially on those days its just me and the wife...it has become our go to spot when we want to discuss things
as for the furnace, its funny, i can hear my fan kick it...almost sounds like a helicopter
but once its running it pipes down again
i just got the bill for that switch that went out last week
i think the mechanic cut me a deal, he billed me for 2 hours, but i think it was closer to three
best part is, those 2 hours and the part was still less than the minimum charge would have been if i had them come by over the weekend (and there is no telling if they would have been able to get the switch at that point)
