Back to the deep freeze here again, 3*f this morning, and about 3 inches of fresh snow, and still snowing. Was around 48* yesterday. Went to Calgary yesterday, had a short visit with my brother, saw his most recent acquisition, a 1971 Pontiac Firebird Formula 455 H.O. 4 speed. Car is in pretty rough shape, but has a fresh numbers matching motor that runs perfectly. From his research it is one of about 50 built, so he plans a complete and correct restoration of it. Originally Lucerne blue with a white interior. That makes it about the 7th or 8th f body that he presently owns. It came with a very solid and clean 71 Formula 350 car, that one he plans to use for a resto mod 71 Trans Am. He has about a dozen motors, big block Pontiacs and Chevys, plus a couple of LS crate motors and multiple transmissions, body and interior panels all stored in his 2 shops.

I like your brother sounds like a great kinda guy.
Were going back in the deep freeze again as well so glad I did my driveway today because tomorrow blowing snow I would have icicles hanging on my nose. lol

He moved to an acreage in November 2020, has a 3 car attached garage, plus a 38 x 57 foot pole barn out back. He now has three 4 post hoists, and could easily use two more. His biggest complaint is that he spends too much time working, and not enough time on his cars. Sounds familiar. LOL

Hope he gets time but like most by the time we do have time it's to far over the hill to really do much.

Plus of course he still owns the 1970 Chevelle SS454 that he restored about 15 years ago. I would love to own that one, but he'll never sell it, even his wife has told him that is the one car that she won't let him sell. He told me yesterday that he turned down an offer over $100k for it last year. I should have taken a bunch of pictures yesterday when I was there.:BangHead:

Yeah, even he acknowledges that time is not on his side, he's 64 now, but still very healthy and active, so I can only hope that he is able to get at least the two Firebirds done. He's looking for someone to do the metalwork on the 455 car, but they have to be willing to commit to working on it full time, cost is not really an issue, he's prepared to buy as much new sheet metal as it takes, budget for that alone is $10k. I know a local guy here who is a retired bodyman that I will contact and see if he is interested, he's really into Oldsmobiles, so it might be right in his wheelhouse.

That would be the hard part I would think finding someone to commit to getting the body and paint done and not taking years to do it.
Glad I can do my own but really not set up with a good ventilation system and I've had enough of the dust and fumes.

Been a nice sunny day and had full intentions of looking at the snowblower today but didn't happen. Just couldn't get into it. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer anyway. Dam windy here though.

 City worker with a big snow blower just went by widening the road and he always blows it in my yard because my land has a drain and no big deal. He blew it all against my *** hole neighbors garages this time. Looks like I got some real good neighbors....

Good to know you're not alone after all Fred.
