In many ways you may be better off that way, Fred, as the 24 hours “silo news” cycle has only gotten worse. Not a helluva lot of news sources I trust online, as The Powers That Be can (and do) “steer” the news to match one’s beliefs and online data, and thus, IMO, one of the primary reasons for the **** this Country is in right now.

(I don’t think I went over the line here, but free to delete this, Mike.)

That's why I don't watch news.
BTW Jim my son hasn't had time to talk to his neighbor gal on the old Ford trucks. He just got home from Iowa and has been really busy.

That makes one of us! I’m trying to get the ceiling done out in shed so I can start installing the furnace, but I keep running into obstacles….like well pumps and the like. The Goal was to be done by Halloween, but I don’t think I’m going to make it.

But Congratulations on being prepared! Must be a good feeling.

Not looking forward to winter and I think our weather is about the same. Hope you get the time to get the shed heated.
 
I need to test fire the snowblower and fill up my gas can. Need to plant the garlic too. I think a bear knocked over some my wood pile. That aint cool.

Snow blower and stand by generator all ready to go. Only thing I need to prepare for winter is me.
 
Still fighting hard with myself on weather to quit farming or continue. I have lost some ground 10 years ago and more 2 years ago. As a result I have only made a profit 1 year in the last 10. If I decide to keep it up I need to spend 20 grand on a newer combine thats dependable then lease more ground

I think from the little bit that I know crops didn't bring in any money for farmers this year but cattle did real good.

Going to StKitts was a joke. Stop Go Stop Go and took over 2.5 hrs which normally took 1hr 40 minutes. Coming home at night was much better.
130 on cruise most of the way. I did hit 142 at one time and three ricers went flying by and in and out of traffic. Of course no signals when changing lanes and one idiot on a bike went flying past me and going between cars. DEATH WISH!!!!!!
Slept like a log last night though.
Going to a funeral today. One of the guys in our car group past away. He was a great guy!!

I think it depends on your age CF. Might be time to sell or rent your land and sell the equipment and put your feet up. Age and health is the main factor.

I think you just answered your own question CF. People depend on you guys but its not a charitable occupation in my eyes. I dont have much of an opinion on this because i dont know enough of it, but what i have seen...you guys are having a tough go of it. Just arm chairing here TBH

Yes I stand corrected. Reread the article. Still didn’t see any date. So I googled it and found the correct date. My bad. Still a lot of countries sent help and money to contain the radiation to protect the planet. Obviously Putin has no respect even for his own people.
