I am having dificulties of finding a camshaft for my project, 360 with factory roller lifters.
Can I fit any aftermarket LA roller cam in there? Would existing pushrods fit?

Or can I go cheap and put flat tappet cam in there, with hydr.lifters? What pushrods in that case?

BTW, what's the specs of the stock cam, for '89 RAM?

Personally I'd call Hughes or Comp, I know both have cams for the factory hyd. roller. A flat tappet will work, but the pushrods are too short, and the rockers don't have oil holes on the top of the pushrod socket area. Don't fret custom order pushrods with oil holes (aka Chevy, Ford style) will solve both problems. 7.5" should be the length for flat tappet cam pushrods.

I'd stick with the roller cam, and grab some roller rockers to finish it up. Get the valves springs that match the new cams lift from the same company. It worth it.

Maybe I shouldn't change the cam at all? It will be used 100% on street/road, stock 727 and converter, 3.20 gears, in very light car (hot rod). I am planning to use 4bbl carb and long headers, otherwise probably stock engine.
