Leaking shift lever shaft seal

[65 Signet Convertible]

Got a 65 Signet, slant 6, 225, with automatic floor shifter. Developed a leak, old mechanic friend says it is the seal for the shift selector. I can't locate a replacement... any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

You could check with Torqueflite Patty (Pat Blais - Google his name and his eBay store is the top of the results. His contact info is in the store.) Or check places like Fatsco, A&A transmission. If you know the part number you can google it and see what pops up. Sometimes you see retailers with listings based on the part number. Good luck.

There's actually two - one for the shift selector and an inner one for the kickdown lever. A&A trans and others will easily have what you need.
