Well I'll be leaving for Massachusetts on Sunday to move my mother in law down to North Carolina. I was still looking for any Massachusetts FABO members who could assist me in getting Giles (340 butterduster) 38' Plymouth hood to him. I could meet up with whoever is offering to help out if you live in the Boston metro area or South of Boston towards Rhode Island line. The hood is in a rather large box and this is causing me issues with shipping to Canada, but I was thinking along the lines of a FABO brigade to help in getting this to him. I can get it 735 miles closer to him by bringing it with me to Mass, but I would need someone to accept responsibility to "pass it on" to others out here who can help in getting this across the border to Giles. So if there are any other members out here from Massachusetts who are willing to help out on this, last chance to let me know. I will have my laptop with me on this trip and can only bring the hood with me if I can definatley get someone to help me out and take the box and get it to others who could get it over the border. Thanks in advance!!!!!

By the way, this hood is a fold up style hood and the box it is in isn't really huge but is kind of bulky.

I live in Pembroke MA and would be willing to take it and then bring meet someone up towards the NH border to pass it along.

Pembroke would be a good option because I know the area and it is not far from my destination of Fall River.

I already told you i can ship it for you if you get it to me i need the exact measurements and weight and zipcode for an accurate shipping cost...

Where are you located? I thought you were in Michigan. I was trying this as a last resort to save on shipping costs to try to get a "FABO Brigade" to maybe get this into Canada by having other FABO members who would be willing to transport it between us all.... kind of like the Olympic Torch ...:-D

I'm in Needham 30 seconds off of 128

I could get in to dge 467 up by the NH border if it will fit in a Honda Pilot

It should fit into any SUV type vehicle as I have stated before- this is a fold up style hood and is packed into a 48" Cooktop Box, I will send out a P.M to one of you who have offered to help out with my phone number and we can set up a meeting. thanks for all of your help in getting these parts to the great white north! I will morethan likely contact you Susmad.

Wish I could help, but I am on the wrong side of the country, good luck. At least it looks like there is a few others willing to try to help out....

I am here in Fall River Mass. Just arrived about 15 mins ago. Drove all yesterday afternoon into the night and caught a couple hrs zzz's at a rest stop in CT. I need to get this box to someone please, I have it with me and I will look up Giles's address later after I get some sleep. If anyone can meet me sometime tomorrow either on RT 24 or RT128, please P.M. me and let me know or better yet call my cell @ 919-229-5692 and leave me a message. Thanks FABO for all your help in this matter. I will only be in Mass for about two to three days max. I need to get back to NC to work on Friday.

ok..p.m. me i can meet you somewhere on rt 128 i need the exact measurements and weight to give you a price on shipping it from Boston...

I can measure it exact but I have no way to weigh it, I can ballpark figure the weight about 120 lbs?? My Mother in law has a bathroom scale I think, I will try to get a weight from that. P.M. will follow.

Dave has agreed to meet me tomorrow to pick up the hood. He also has told me to get the word out to any of our New Hampshire members that could get this hood further northward that he will meet any member from New Hampshire border and "pass it on". Come on guys lets get Giles his hood!!!!! It is closer now to the border and I feel confident that someone will step up to the plate and assist in getting this guy his parts!!! What a great story to be able to tell about the kindness and giving spirit that is so much missing in today's world. So how about it everybody Lets get another leg of the 38 Plymouth hood's journey home. Thanks Dave!!!!!!:cheers::cheers:

I live literally a couple miles from NH border right off RT93. If no one in NH can make it to the border I can bring the hood to them.

I'm not sure what route you're planning to take, but I assume it would be north through Vermont/NH? I will be heading to my camp in northern Maine in 10 days. If it could be brought up to Dover-Foxcroft Maine by someone, zip 04426, I could take it up to Fort Kent Maine 225 miles north of me on 9/30 or 10/1 only. Prior commitments prevent me from driving downstate to pick it up, and my dates up north are limited to those given. Check the map to see if this is possible, and if so, see if anyone would be able to get it to me. That would be a long ways still, but maybe the FABO train heads west through Ca-Na-Da. Hope this helps, Tim.

Can we get a relay to maybe get this to Tim? And if so, are there any others who can volunteer to get it over the border?? He is in no rush for the hood so there would be no need to get it over the border immeadiatly but if anyone out here has the means to get it as far north as possible, he would pick up the shipping costs to get it over the border from Maine or whatever.I wil try to contact him and get an update from him as soon as I can.
