I am looking for pics of Y-2 Sunfire Yellow and Y-3 Honey Gold cars.

When I am checking paint chips, too me, my car looks like Sunfire Yellow but the paint code is Y-3 Honey Gold. What do you think? Is this Honey Gold or Sunfire Yellow? Am I starting to go color blind? On this paint chart Honey Gold appears to be too dark for my car....

Lets see your cars!

Funny you should post this. My 70 Swinger is GY3 and it looks sunfire yellow everywhere I look. It was repainted years ago in Sunfire but stuff like the floor boards and the package tray weren't painted and have original paint on them and it looks like Sunfire to me. Go figure.

I would say Honey Gold for sure. Sunfire yellow has no brownish tone to it, and has a little greenish tinge not reddish as your pic shows.

Thanks for the response! It is definitely darker than y-2 sunfire yellow; although it looks lighter than y-3 Honey Gold....lol

After seeing pics I have to agree that it is y-3 Honey Gold.....

3 of my '73's are Y-3 Honey Gold and my '72 is y-4 Honeydew.....they all look the same to me....

Here's mine and there's no doubt its Honey Gold... Paint code JY6

That's a sharp Gold.....what year is it? If it is a '73 (which I think J is) Y-6 is listed as "Golden Haze Poly".

Yeah, its a 73.. It is the original color.. Its a 20 footer.. ya get to close then you see the ooppsies the person who had it before me did.. Paint is the last thing on my list to fix.. It has a warmed up 318, cam'd, new bottom end, Edelbrock performer intake, Holley 600, rebuilt 904 trans w/shift kit , and have 8-3/4" to put in it in the winter..
Right now I have all the interior out, and I see where I'm going to have to patch the drivers side floor pans.. But hey, it's my thang!
