Ok, I have a 225 slant six with a block that dates to 1966, one barrel carter carb and a 904 transmission that came out of a 1968 abody. I cannot figure out how to make the damn linkage to work because the transmission bottoms out before the carb opens all the way.

Do you have a factory service manual. The directions for adjusting the throttle position rods is in there.

If you don't I'll try to scan the direction or maybe search the tech archives here or at moparts.

I haven't even been able to find a linkage set-up like what I have; it is suppose to be stock off of a 1968 abody.

Ok, I just checked the linkage on the '60 Valiant, which is original to the car and that acts the same way; the kickdown is bottomed out before the carb is halfway open. Is that how it is suppose to be????? Two cars with the same problem?

If the kickdown bottoms out the carb wount open any further (there is no relief in that direction). Something is definately wong with either the linkage or the way you describe its operation. You could set kickdown to be all in at wide open throttle.
The proceedure in the service manual is the recommended method, "3/16 dia stick (drill bit) through hole in bellcrank" yada yada.
Almost any mopar service manual will have the same "how to" regardless what car 904 or 727.
