I read somewhere that there was one 440 LRE built an that they built a couple in 1980 that were in Canada. Don't know if it is true or not just what I read somewhere.

You could get a 440 Warlock in '78 that was basically an LRE w/o stacks.

warlock was more just an appearance package then the the LRE performance package.

How did those things run? I know they were fast when nothing else was back then.

I owned a '79.
built & blueprinted the engine for it.
stock pistons, crank, rods, heads. Just good stuff in it.
Added eldlebrock performer intake, 650DP Holley, stock MP 340 cam & headers.

Used a 10" convertor & 4.30 gears with 9" slicks.

Removed the stacks & mufflers.

It weighed 4100lbs with me in it.

Ran 13.80's.

Put all the stock parts back on it 3.55 gear, stock convertor & exhaust.

Ran 14.80's.
