Where was the original (factory) location for the ECU on a '72 Duster 340? I have seen pictures of different engine compartments and they are in various places. Any help would be appreciated. ~Mrs. DustyEd
I have seen those cooling brackets on only 73+ B and E bodies. I've never seen one on an A bodyReally appreciate the quick replies!
Were the ECU mounting brackets only found on the E-bodies? Were their purpose simply for cooling the ECU and how effective/useful were they?
So, did you use it on an A-body? Were these just for ECU cooling?I got my brackets from a 74 cuda’. 1 for ecu and 1 for the vr. Kim
The 73 and up location makes way more sense because it gets the ECU away from battery corrosion and you don't sit on it to work on the engine74 ecu was on the vertical rise of the fender but very close to the firewall. Just to give you an idea where they eventually decided to put it.
It does control the spark.Calling the ignition module/box an ECU is a stretch...IMHO.
