Lokar kick down adjustment

Hijacking...

I have a similar issue with my 5.2/904...I bought and setup the lokar throttle and kickdown cables (very nice and clean install-would recommend to anyone) and it says adjust at WOT to no slack. I've done what's recommended, no kickdown at WOT...tried loosening up the adjustment thinking it had it too tight...early/soft shifts and "flaring" on the 2-3 shift...also seems to surge and bog the engine at stoplights when loosened up.

So, I snugged it back up to zero slack and it still won't downshift at WOT; pretty sure there's something I'm missing or doing incorrectly...any ideas?

no kick down at WOT sounds wrong. you want your kickdown to engage when you depress the throttle. if anything you want no slack at throttle in closed position I would think. so that when you depress the gas it would engage the kick down. as to where most adjust theirs to I don't know so i will let someone else chime in on that.

I could be wrong.

Yeah, I got it figured out-apparently I didn't have it tight enough. I thought all the slack was out, but I guess I was wrong. It shifts a little higher and has much firmer feel to it, and I get WOT kickdown. I pushed it up to 110 on a backroad this morning :D

Evidently, that car hasn't seen that much speed in quite some time. I got debris flyin' around inside-probably some pine needles and leaves from the 90s...

Didnt want a new thread I just got lokar kickdown cable , My question is must I run there throttle cable or is the stock one ok?
