The guy who bought the big 16' Crestliner I had wanted "just the hull" He was going to turn it into a cameo "mud motor" boat for shallow water. So I ended up with the bilge pump, which I tested at the time.

So now I was getting ready to put it in the "new" 15' Voyager Crestliner, and decided "I better" give it a critical eye. Tore it apart, nice and clean bearings no wear, BUT IT WILL NOT push water far enough to get over the transom!!!

Forty bucks later and back from North Forty...................LOL

are you sure the discharge is clean and unobstructed?

my bilge pump quit over the winter and it took me a while to find out "something" clogged the exit
(never did figure out what it was)

Oh yeh, there's nothing anywhere. You can "see clear through it." The new one outpumps the old one at least 10:1. 'Bout jerked the hose outta my hand when I fired it up LOL

I have no idea what a bilge pump is or what it does, would you explain it to me? I enjoy learning something new.

a bilge pump is a small fluid transfer pump that sits in the lowest part of a boat
as waves crash over the bow, rain comes down, or some dummy forgets to tighten the drain plug, water can accumulate in the bottom of the boat

the bilge pump can be turned on to send that water through a hose out of the boat

(i guess live wells also have pumps in them, but i dont think they are called bilge pumps, since they dont sit in the bilge)

^^AKA "bilge"...........the very very dirtiest, awfulest, lowest part of a boat/ ship's hull. ...............

This boat does not leak "much" -- after a boat trip it usually only has a cup or two of water in the bottom. I wanted one for "like that once" LOL that I left the plug out, and "that once" when I took a wave from that "wake boat" in the little 12' boat.

"If I live long enough" this boat will have new flotation foam in the bow and underfloor."
