The Scamp, drained the old fuel, changed the two flex hoses in the system, did a "quick" cleanup of the alternator brushes (which I had to remove to access the fuel hose) did compression check, inspected cap and rotor, and resistance checked the plug wires. Remounted the VR

Then fired it up and ...........charging at over 16V

Check key on/ engine stopped drop from ballast resistor to battery post..........more than 1.6V LOLOL

So "we" have a little work ahead of us at some point

The thing acted like it was starting to flood so the carb is next.......................................

If you have any more electrical problems and need some advice give me a shout:lol::popcorn:

Fuel/ carb is next. It was running OK and suddenly got "flood--ish". I'm thinking something broke loose in the line and flushed on up into the carb/ needle / seat. It's a filthy thing LOL

I got the plates renewed and haven't even had it around the block LOL

Speaking of carbs, my ATV started to stall at idle, and run rich. Found a centipede entered via bowl vent hose. It was riding float assembly.

LOLOL I got the thing apart I'd forgotten how much "fun" these are to work on. I've worked on a BUNCH of the old Ford '60's "Holley look alike" Autolite and a BUNCH of 2 or 4bbl Holleys. And Carter 2 and 4bbl, as well as Rochajunk. But these damned 1 bbls on slants are a PITA. Power valve piston is all "sticky" and neither power valve nor main jet were particularly snug. Bown shows some "junk" in the bottom I ran it on the bowl with line going to a can, and flushed it out to no result. Fuel looks good and clear. Needle/ seat is crimped together, I cannot tell if there was anything in there or not. I WILL blow it out. Had a metal filter I may cut that open and see how it looks

"We'll see"
