Can someone tell me the exact OEM part number so I can seek one out correctly.
I've been told all A Body car of that era was built with the same one...
I have attached a picture of one but unsure it is correct
Thank you in advance,
Wayne

I went to Advance Auto several years ago and bought an A-1 Cardone rebuilt steering box for my 69. It has worked fine. You might still be able to do the same thing; you just won't have a core. But you will save on shipping.

The pictured one is not "correct" for '68 cuda. If this is not a "correct" resto, then many others should work. You can try Firm Feel in Oregon or your local auto parts store. Part #2537730 or #2537731. "B" bodies used the same box

Chrysler part #2537730 was superseded in 1969 to 2537736,which was good thru 1972. Lares corp. website shows #1033 as a stock replacement. Firm Feel boxes are also available #11033 and #11043. They can be ordered at many auto part stores.
Rockauto shows out of stock on the #1033.
You can also check #2537730 and 2537736 on the internet for other sources.

Yup, 2537731 for a big block, 2537730 for everything else that year. Many years used a steering gear that will interchange with a '68 though.....pretty much '63-'72 A, B, and E-body. There are some appearance differences through the years if that is a concern.
