Lets see where do we start ?
What I see is a car that is set up for the strip, not gas milage.
Ok..To much advance at 40 for the street. Track maybe, but not for the street.
Timing should be between 10-12 initial 34 total, all in around 2500. Your car will be better on the top end anyways with this timming.
You "Must" have vacuum advance on a street car if you want any kind of milage.
Heres the fun part. Holley double pumper and gas milage = No Dice !!!!
Holleys are generally a race carb with high performance in mind.
Since you have an auto trans, you should be using a vacuum sec carb.
If you must use the Holley, jet down the primaries, lower the pump shot, and try to stay out of the secondaries. Sounds like the power valve department. Or put the carb into the trunk and cruise with a Ede 600. Put the Holley on when you get to the strip.
Tunning to be as lean as possible without hurting the motor is pretty key.
If your running around super rich, well there goes your gas.
Someone mentioned a vacuum gauge in the car. Helps you get better milage.
Lower the vacuum the more your getting into it. Try to keep vacuum up for milage.
Tires inflated couple pounds extra as mentioned.
And the all time milage tip.
Drive it like there is an egg under the gas pedal.
