Lost of power

Okay totally frustrated at this point, I have .60 360 complete rebuild stock heads comp cam xe268 with stock distributor and weiand dual plane high rise manifold and edelbrock 650 avs run good temp new wires plugs cap and rotor, occasionally I go to jump on it and totally lose power between 2 and 4grand other time it screams...just can't find the problem

Those intermittent problems are the most fun.... not !
My first wild guess, worn out distributer parts. Advance plate rotation changing reluctor gap or shorting its wiring.

Distributor was my first thought and replaced everything keep replacing wires and checking plugs, almost think valve sticking at certain points...

And this is a numbers matching 74 dart sport 360

I'd try a known good carb. Also check the base and total timing, with the vacuum advance disconnected. Timing curve may need some work.

Check to make sure #5 & #7 spark plug wires have not hit the exhaust and gotten burnt.
