LOVELY!! Just broke the $h#t out of the GMC pass mirror

04 GMC has these fancy mirrors, they fold in, they are motorized, they have hidden LED turn flashers, and they "motor" in/out extend. Pulled into the carport, and now temporarily have the 74 Scamp forward, so I was trying to watch IT and got too close to the side "joists." You have to get close, as there isn't all that much room in there. It's a mess. fractured the outer 1/4? of the glass and of course the housing. I was so mad/ depressed/ shocked/ ????? up that I didn't even try it to see if any of the motor functions work. LOVELY!!!
 
It folds both ways, it's just that I didn't "hit" it just right that the folding was successful LOL Biggest ***** is that there seems to be 1,000,001 mirror options, and so far I haven't found what I want. All I believe I need is the housing/ cover and new glass
 
A Bus took my 2002 silverado side mirror out. Usually they fold forward with a big thunk, scares the **** out of you when your parked doing paperwork. This one happened when I was not present. I found the mirror 30 feet down the road and the mirror folded forward. Got in he truck to leave and heard a whistling sound. The mirror not only bucked forward but jacked the door in 3 inches and bent the window frame. Door was a total write off. Had to take one off another wrecked truck at the big yard, got his steering wheel too.
 
sorry to hear that Del. At least you have us to vent to? You are one windsheild and a side mirror from a brand new truck! that hurts.....said with love now, go easy on me:)

Call Auto Nation in Spokane. They have a retail line. VIN specific ordering. They can email you a diagram and you can decide what you need.

I wiped my drivers side forward backing up. Tried duct tape. Nope. Bought a new one, Took about 4 hrs to figure how to install it.:BangHead:

I've had success with Loc-Tite 60 sec glue... course I let it sit longer than that we've had a few of them get torn straight off but usually it just breaks the plastic mounting bosses so I glue them back in... lasted for years

I`m really a fix it kinda guy, but it was wrecked pretty good. What`s weird is a vinyl siding corner did the deed, and didn`t phase it:realcrazy:

I cannot tell for sure but "maybe". It has a bellows like contraption on the horizontal and motors in/ out. This is it through GM looked up by the VIN The rp code is DPF
