Front was already lowered a little after replacing a few suspension parts.
I didn't like the stink bug look so I read up on lowering the rear on this forum and decided to flip the rear spring bracket's.
I definitely like it, has a slight rake and best of all it was free.

looks great. i have a soft spot for white cars with red interior.
Thanks
I think that's what won us over on buying it.

I like. What does it measure from the ground to the bottom of the rockers? Dennis
Thanks
Measures 8'' front,9'' rear @ the sill in front of the pinch seam's,if that makes sense.
Tires are 205 on 14'' rims rear and 195 front.

Looks good. Here's mine that I sold last spring

Nature lowered mine....:)...probably need to get some new heavier duty torsion bars and lower the front.

Looking good guy's.
Maybe we should make this a lowered early A convertible thread.
Dart4forte do you have any side pics ?

Ran into a bit of a problem.
The rear spring bushings are now squeaking like crazy .
I did not lube the bushings when I did the flip since they were not squeaking before the flip.
Tried squirting lube in there without much success.
What could have caused this ? remedy besides replacing the bushings ?

How much were you asking for it before the price was lowered??? LOL!

Nice car.

7k but for you I can do 8. haha
Going outside to pull the front spring hangers and lube the bushes.
Anyone know the torque #'s for the spring eye bolt's ?

If you are talking the rear leaf spring hangers, you have to be careful. I use the mancini rear spring hangers, and they can not handle the torque spec in the factory service manual. They willl break. With the mancini rear spring hanger eye bolts, you snug them and then go a little more.. or they will break off. That's why I order two sets of rear hangers when I replace them. JIC I break one.... :violent1:

Thanks guys.
It's a 20 footer and looks better in the pic's than in person.
It gets compliments every time we take it out though.
It's had one re paint before I got it and like the orig un restored look it has.
Greased the spring bush and sleeve and it helped a little but still squeaking.
Guess it's time to retire the 50 yr old springs.

Thanks guys/gals.
Roscoe has been a great dog.
I dont have a pic with him and the dart but here he is in his roscoe wagon.

yeah ragtop, can you keep this thread alive until you fix that squeak please?
I want to do the "flip" to my '66 Cuda, but need to know how you go first.
I like the dog too - very good looking face ... if you like that type of face. LOL
thanks

Roscoe is awesome in his cool wagon! Luv good Dogs... :hello2:Roscoe

I tried loosening the bolt that holds the leaf spring on and apply moly grease between the bushings and flipped bracket and it didn't help.
Ended up taking it all apart and lubing everything I could including the bolt shaft and it worked. Life is good again.

Nice car. I think caps would make it look better than chrome lugs though.

Thanks.
I have caps but think I like it as is.
Once caps are put on they chip the paint and there's no turning back.
