So I was cruising around on good 'ol CL pondering my next project. To me old cars are cool reguardless of make so I started searching by year. Something about the '61-'65 models of most makes just grabs my attention. So I made a little list of cars in the 5k or less range, which is usually what I shop by. Let me hear your opinions...

Here they are in no particular order except the Mopar on top to appease this crowd.

'65 Fury

'62 Bullit Bird (T-bird)

And another car I've always liked but have not found in my 5k price range.
'62-'64 Lincoln

And yes, one last FoMoCo make...
'64 Falcon

always liked the lincoln with suicide doors... and the small hood.. nice car

All pretty cool choices.I like all old cars as well. There's a '64 Falcon down here in a yard that was formerly a straight axle AWB car. It just is missing the engine and tranny now. lol.

Out of the 4, I'd pick the C-body with the 440. Seems to be the best value in my opinion that and ive always had a thing for Fury's

By far, the coolest of those is the Lincoln. Most potential go go like a *****... the Falcon. Those things weigh damn near nothing.

Go with the Fury, it already has a 440 in it, what more could you want.

I have to say the Fury. I just finished a 66 and I shouldn't have sold it. The car drove like a dream, got a ton of looks and got up and moved with the 440. JMO.

I've always like those T-birds more than the Dan Tanner ones. Those Lincolns are cool. From about 20 feet and that's as close as I want to get to one. (Sorry, biased, worked on a few, muck me sideways....)

That was my thought on the Lincoln, bigger car bigger problems... lol

LOL, so you would think. You can't get to anything on it. Can't reach the shift linkage to adjust it. For a couple of years they mounted the PS pump on the crankshaft. God forbid should you have a problem with the hood release...

Those little Falcons can make bad *** cars. And as stated above, they weigh damn near nothing.

My next project after my Duster will be a AMC Gremlin(if I can find one)lol

Put me down for the convertible Falcon. I'm not a Ford guy, but those rag-tops are sweet little buckets.

My vote would be the Fury. Ad says runs and drives, for only $3k. The Falcon is $2,400 but still needs lots of work to drive. For the value as the ads say the Fury is the better buy. just my $.02
