hello all, i recently purchased a Detroit Locker 913A572 and a 3.73 ring and pinion set that i was going to swap in my 8.75 rear end. are there any tips that you guys can recommend beyond what the instructions say? i have a 741 case.

A set up bearings make life much easier when getting your pinion depth adjusted. If you can get the shim stack thickness from under the current pinion bearing before starting, that's sometimes a good starting point.

were did you find a 3.73 ring gear for a 741??

and just locktite the ring gear bolts in and your good to go!

and yes a checker bearing can be very usfull...

I liked the cartoon blotters, although they were scarce, purples were plentiful......did ya notice I said "liked" as in past tense....couldnt do it now-a-days!!

Get some aftermarket HD axles if you're going to run a locker.
