During a recent search through my 50+ year collection of Mopar bolts, I discovered this one. It is a ⅜" by 4 ¼" NC with the CPCD logo on the head. It looks like it may have been a water pump housing bolt on a big block, but that's just a guess. Has anyone ever seen a bolt MADE by Chrysler? I am in the process of restoring a very correct car and using the correct bolt markings wherever possible. However, in my extensive research I have not run across any reference to this head marking.
Just a question to ask other Mopar gear heads for the fun of it.

I posted this question on a couple of other sites and got one answer. It seems that these bolts were used in 1962 and prior. I started collecting Mopar bolts in 1960, so I guess I've had this one for a while. If there is any more info out there, I'd like to hear it.

I restored a 1938 Dodge for 20 years ago and that car was loaded with those bolts!

For my Dartcharger I've been restoring all the bolts on the car and I must admit that there are tons of different bolt and nuts on a car!

Each supplier has their own logo and are allowed to put in on their bolts when they supply them to Chrysler.

I don't recognize that logo myself, but maybe someone out there can tell us who it was...

Hi,

DPCD = Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler, Desoto

This was a common Chrysler Corporation marking back in the "old days".
