Make a pulley ring


First get some remnant plate
&
trepan it

Knock off the burr, chuck it up in the lathe, drill it

Bore it

Face it

Flip it over and put some detail in the front face

Fit it onto the pulley then onto the mill

For drilling and tapping

Three button head 8-32's should look nice

Back in the lathe for finish OD and 15 deg angle

Looks pretty nice

Now the belt will not fly off, and you will not wear it like a mustache

Go for it. I used to have my bro in law make up my parts (he was a tool and die maker).

I don't get out of town very often, but, if you have a sofa and some home cooking it's possible I could put in some time showing you and your Dad some basics.

Then you could make up some odds & ends for your projects.
