Made one a couple years ago but decided to make another in a slightly different style. I started with a couple wooden templates to check the fit and clearances. After that I cut it from 3/8” plate steel, made bends and polished. I will try to post more as I proceed.

I got an old E-body pistol grip I saved from *** trying to weld it in his mini-van.
It has hand carved grip handles, I am pretty sure its going in my Duster.

The custom pistol grip I put in my Duster is one of my favorite things about my car.

There used to be a guy in Peru that hand made pistol grips from stainless and exotic woods. I have one of the first ones he sold and its a work of art. For whatever reason it appears he stopped making them not too long after he started. Here's a pic. Sorry its lo-res.

Still slowly gaining. Stained wood grip and made a cap for shift pattern insert to fit on top of handle.
A slight goof up on top of cap. Hopefully it won’t show too bad. I could make it again but it took me quite a while to do it already.
Will keep you posted on progress.

If it were only 1/4” thick possibly. This is 3/8” thick. I believe it would take quite a force to bend it.
