Thinking about changing some things around when the engine goes back in. Only 1 time did I get in a situation where I thought this engine was running a little hotter than I liked. I got caught in stop and go traffic on a real hot day coming back from a car show. I am one to try and prevent problems before they happen. I have a mild built 440/727 combo in the Duster. as it was, the car had an external oil cooler on the front of the radiator. The car has never had a fan shroud on it in the past 14 years. I am thinking about doing away with the external oil cooler and using the fittings on the bottom of the radiator for the tranny lines and allowing a little more air coming through the radiator. I am also going to check into a fan shroud from Summit. They sell the Mopar Performance ones. I know that would help a lot. My concern is with the tranny lines going through the radiator bottom. But then most of the cars ran that back in the day. you think that will be better. I have also tossed around the idea of mounting an external fan up there with a sending unit into the water jacket that would come on once it reached 195* just incase I get caught in a lot of traffic during " Cruising the Coast". I know how hot it gets down there.
