66 dart 360 stock car. have iron manifolds with large outlets ~2&1/4 iirc. headers are allowed but the exhaust must be 2". with that restriction how much gain would headers offer? the headers are pricey & require the block to be ground plus a mc robb mini starter that is pricey also. deciding what to do. thank you for your time. RR

I waited to see how the car performed.
Mosta the lower lap times came from chassis adjustment, and driver improvement.
I never did put a header on it, cuz the powers that be wanted us to add weight, so I just threatened to put on legal headers, that everyone else was running, - that shut them up.

Headers generally gained 2/10ths/lap to most cars.

They Do make a difference .

the short answer is yes there are gains everywhere.

the "worth it" is purely subjective from your end.

personally, i'd run a season and look how i can improve the car and my driving before adding [potentially] more power.

Have you been racing this car yet? Sound like the expense and work involved wouldn't be worth it unless the whole operation was ironed out and functioning well.

As said, spend the time & money getting your chassis sorted out first.
Depending on track and gearing, you may find you've got more than enough power- you just have to figure out how to get around the track as quick as you can.
Once you've got your chassis ironed out and get comfortable in your driving style, then go looking for more power.
