MeMike wins guess the noise!!!

Got the 318 apart today it had a small piece of metal embedded in the top of #2 piston and was hitting the head. MeMike thought that was the noise when I originally posted back in Nov last year. Don't know where it came from no broken piston, no broken rings, no bad valves, must have come down the intake from somewhere. The good news is it is rebuildable without any major damage, didn't even break the piston? I'll save it for a future project as it is a roller motor.

Maybe a sharp edge that broke off that was not smoothed out during machining?

It is an 89 motor with over 100,000 miles on it, so it could have been something I did when putting the 4 bbl manifold on. I paid $150 for it and got almost 5 yrs out of it can't complain.
