I don't weld that often. Would like to not have to not buy another spool next time the welder is needed. Will storing it inside the house, in a couple of plastic bags tied shut be enough to prevent it from getting contaminated like the last spool I bought........hate tossing a spool that still has 95% of the wire on it in the recycling pile.....
 
It couldn't hurt, I'd also toss some dessicant packets into the bag for reassurance.

That what I do !!! At the shop,everytime I get new parts delivered I throw the desiccant sacks on top of my welder by the spool...

Someone told me that some of those packs can be "dried" in the microwave...

Some of them can. We use them here at work to keep moisture out of instrument panels, they turn blue, we dry them out, and throw 'em back in.
