MILODON OR BARTON PUMP On The Street

Looking at a 383 street strip motor , I was wondering if any members use either of the external oil pumps on the street, I was Told they would be overkill for the Street But I already have one should I use it or not,????/

Just my opinion, but unless it's full on race - I'd skip it and stick with the internal pickup and stock type pump. It's easy to give away power for something you don't need. External oil systems have their uses but unless you're trapping over 7K regularly and the engine has race clearances you don't need it.

Lots of oil getting bypassed with that much pump. It gets hot.

Unless you have internal clearances that let small animals in...lol.
