Keep up the good work, is that a MP windage tray?

Thanks! Not sure, it came on the engine. Someone said it looked like a stock 340 windage tray.

Installed the cam tonight as well. Lost one of the bolts to the thrust plate so gotta find that before I keep going.

Its impressive!
Great work. I sorta cheated, read first few pages, then realized there were 13. So i skipped a few to browse later.

Apparently some of the knock offs had issues with porosity. Unless your dead broke go with an original.

Not the most beautiful work but I gasket matched the intake. I think it should help....but we shall see! Oil pan is on, heads are on. Waiting on new intake gaskets and the crank oil slinger to arrive. Also started getting items for the transmission, it’s a 69 unit out of a barracuda or dart. Kinda cool I thought. Going to pull the old motor and trans out soon and paint the engine bay.

So engine is squared away pretty much. Going to use the set of M/T valve covers that are on the car already. Pretty super excited about it. Next is the transmission, I ordered a Mancini kit that came with their performance rebuild kit, B&M shift kit, and a Mopar performance 2qt deeper pan. Should be a good little runner once done. Stay tuned!

Work got in the way, had to go to a few inventories and I had to work on my moms mustang. Finally got those out of the way and got the transmission into the shop. I’ve never tore one apart but I watch my grandpa work on them. How hard could it be? So far so good! Taking a break for some lunch but making progress. Exterior plugs, lines and selectors are taken off. Pan is off, valve body is out (looks like a lot of clutch materials on it). There is no accumulator spring, the manual talked about one, anything to worry about? Looks like someone has been into it before, one of the bolts is pretty rounded off and the tail shaft has a new bearing. Tail shaft and governor are off. Next is the guts. Any advice is appreciated!

More pictures! Front pump was a bear to get out. Ended up breaking a bolt off in the transmission.....so that put my reassembling to a stop till I get an easy out. But clutch packs swapped out and gasketed. Honestly I think it would have run. But I’m happy I opened it up.

Transmission is going back together. Even got the shift kit installed. Ran out of time last night be starting to look good. Also got my starter, headers, and extras from O’Reillys. They just opened one by my house and I got some sweet discounts. Also just ordered a set of DrDiff a body axles with green bearings. It’s all coming together!

I like your drain plug for the trans, did you fab that up yourself?

Haven’t updated in awhile. Had an issue where the vendor sent a wrong bracket for the disc brakes. They fought me on it, but eventually sent me a new one. After I had removed the old brake drums from the dart to reuse on the new axle. I had a seized brake drum that I made a puller for, worked pretty well. So after that I test fitted everything, built new brake lines, painted everything up. Started pulling the old rear end, every bolt was seized so I had to cut or snap them all off. Just wanting on new front and rear hanger from Mancini’s. Could have used the old one but they weren’t looking the best. Better safe then sorry! But we are getting there.

Normally if you can back the adjuster down the drum will come off.
If their really frozen cut the head off the “nails” that hold the shoes on.
They will just basically fall off then.

Already off, backed the adjuster off and still seized. Made a puller and they came right off

More progress. New hanger installed with the new leaf springs ready. Center chunk installed as well as the axles. Had to stop for the day for work but hopefully it’ll all be on soon.

I did a big bolt pattrler swap on mine the cheap way, used 78 f body spindles, and 73 upper control armsand calipers/rotors. Works great and did it all under 300 bucks. The rear in my car is a 8.25, the gears I got are 3.55s used for 50 bucks. They are in great shape but now I got 4.10 new from a guy for 80 bucks. After I swap my gears you can have the 3.55s if you want them. I have no use for them now. That is, if you're brave enough to run used gears! Lol. But seriously they are fine ill mark the pattern so you can set them up the same. But they're yours if you want them, just come get them.
NICE mate ;)

Read end is under the car now. I was given the wrong shock plates so now I’m waiting on new ones to come. Anyone get upset over little things like that? Also test fitted the headers.

Well new shock plates and shocks are on, brakes are hooked up. Had to get lug nuts for the rear, ran out of time to get the car back on it’s wheels.

Side note. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the items I’m putting on. It amazing how much fast it goes with new stuff.
