Modded stock oil pan...anyone done it?

Has anyone modified a stock oil pan for windage or the track instead of buying a high end milodan or other brand? Curious as to what it took exactly. Thinking about trying it on a possible spare but would love some experienced input. Thanx.

Modified a few, one with a tube thru it for the steering re!ay rod..
Keep it bolted to a block while, and after welding, till completely cool.
