I always liked the six pack/ six barrel air cleaners. Has anyone ever modified the base plate to fit a single four barrel carb ?
I didnt know that. Ive seen ones that has the six pack style base plate with a single 4bbl top. I was thinking of buying a used top & making a base plate. They made them factory. For 383 and 440. Heights differ obviously.
I believe they call it a fresh air filter assembly or air grabber (but not the more. commonly remembered one). I've looked a while, but they're spendy for what they are. Some repops on ebay last time I looked.
wow they are not cheap i think i can make one for that priceHere's an example

1969 69 Charger Roadrunner Super Bee Nice Orig 383 4-bbl Air Grabber Air Cleaner | eBay
I agree, the round filter version isn't as sexy.

FWIW, Some of these may not be real friendly to an Abody with a 2 speed wiper motor. AC can even be an issue. Below is a "shaker " base plate on my 440 six pack. It only needed a small bend to fit under the motor and the rubber seal cutout.........Has anyone ever modified the base plate to fit a single four barrel carb ?
