I have the mopar thin head gaskets on my motor right now but I am installing rhs/indy heads one of these weekends when I don't have to work. Should I install another set of mp thin head gaskets again? Or just use the standard rebuild kit head gaskets, I think there like .040 but not sure. I have read the rhs heads will bump up my compression, and I have had the heads, spring pressure set up for the voodoo 60403 lift. I did'nt know if the thinner head gasket would effect the spring pressure enough to matter or not. I am hoping to have a problem free cam break in. The engine is a 318 bored .040 over with a scat 4 inch crank and 847 dish icon pistons. I also plan on using stock valve train, for now. 1.5 stamped steel rockers.

thin head gaskets have no effect on spring pressure...

the difference between the thin head gaskets and the .040 head gaskets compression wise is probably at best is 2 tenth of a point..

The head gaskets will have no effect on your spring pressure, that is defined by installed height and lift; they will influence your over all static compression; what are you hoping to build? What is the chamber volume of your current heads? What is the chamber volume of your new heads?

The gasket needed depends where the piston are in relation to the deck,
You need .040 clearance between the piston and the head . 0.040 is preferred more is OK
less is looking for trouble. So if the short block has been 0 decked the 0.040 gasket is the one you want.
