hello everyone just picked up a 74 dart gt shell first order of business to switch out the 6 cyl k frame -does anyone know what years will fit also is this doable or should it be done by professionals-thanks in advance for any help

It is very doable.First get a service manual for your Dart.I think most years A Body K frames from 68-76 will work. The later models require the spool mounts.Welcome to fabo and post up some pics of your project............................Jeff

Welcome! You can get conversion mounts from Mike S.
or find a donor and do it on your own!

Hi welcome, you picked the right place to come to for help and support for your Dart. Post some pictures when you can. We all love pictures.

Welcome to the site

Gve us an idea of what your plans are

You want a v 8 K but what are the plans? There are motor mounts that will allow you to use what you have and put a small block or big block in it with 6 K

Also it isn't that hard to do, the torsion bars need to be removed correctly, READ THE MANUAL if you are unfamiliar with the process

Others are correct about the GT, not available in 74, unless you have an export or built other than in USA, then maybe they did have a GT. seen some strange stuff from outsideUS.

There are two kinds. biscuit mount and spool mount. 73-76 spool mount out of an a body will bolt right in. 4 bolts only. Some people say the spool mounts are better as the motor mount is held with a bolt through it where the biscuit mount is on bonded rubber between two pieces of flat steel. Hope this helps.

Welcome to FABO lwood. I'm curious too about the '74 Dart GT. Post some pictures when you get a chance.
