Well I had a pretty good time at E-Town on Sunday. Weather was good, racing was good. Though I don't care much about show cars, it was nice to see a decent turn out. Even managed to talk to a few people this time (which I don't normally do) including members Ken (Physixx) and Dave (Stroked 340) a couple other guys from the pits including Billy, (the guy with the '65 Valiant J Stocker) and Cliff who had the white and purple Dart. Even ran into Ray from Jersey, the guy who bought my old Valiant. He drove the old girl out and I got to see it once again, still running strong. The only thing that sucked was getting home, took me 3 hours to get back to Suffolk County. I was fried. I hate Staten Island.

You know, even the swap meet was better than I expected - not like holy crap good but at least there more vendors than last year (at least it seemed like it) and there was some decent stuff to be had. There were some ridiculous prices though, like a set of bare '308' heads for $600(!) and a mystery 904 trans. I looked at for $400 despite the seller not knowing what was in it. Ended up buying some cheap tools for work and a goofy t-shirt for my kid.

Anyhoo, I always take tons of pics whenever I go to an event like this so here they are for you to enjoy. Hope you dig 'em.

Few from the staging lanes. The AWB blew up at the line, DNF.
IMG_5074.jpg

Possibly my favorite car of the show, a '65 Valiant that runs a 273 in J/SA. Went 11.93!

Ken (Physixx) checking tire pressure before his run.

Can you say 1980?
IMG_5078.jpg

FAST guy Ralph's new Belvedere, sporting 572". Ran 11.70s.

Billy and Wacky Jack's Performance. Those are 255/60/15 tires if you're wondering.
IMG_5088.jpg

Very cool throw back Challenger. Please note, it's very difficult to take a
photo at E-Town without a pole sticking up out of the top of the car.

Blue Whale.
IMG_5092.jpg

This Duster was really nice and fast. Crashed on the big end during
eliminations. Driver was not hurt.
IMG_5094.jpg

Funky old A100.
IMG_5096.jpg

I see this monstrosity driving around my town.

Very quick and clean Duster.
IMG_5102.jpg

This little Valiant was packing big-block power. Went low 12's.
IMG_5104.jpg

Big tires.
IMG_5109.jpg

SuperStockRacer from Moparts. I think he was in the final at Pinks at
Maple Grove.
IMG_5112.jpg

Dave (Stroked 340) was there with his crew from Bahstun.
IMG_5113.jpg

Killer Kuda. Never saw it run. Might be a 'no time' car.
IMG_5115.jpg

Fast Challenger with a pole sticking out of it.

Mean green machine.

Dwayne Porter power.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Any time spent at the drags is good. Hopefully someday soon I'll be more of a participant rather than a photo-snapping interloper.

And you know Mike, the Valiant was defiitely a bucks-down operation, not a 'slick' car by any stretch. Single car open trailer, a minimum of stuff. It sure worked though!
