I has a friend years ago who was a dyed in the WOOL Ford guy. He was an old retired Ford engineer and also retired from Georgia Power. He had a LOT of rare Fords in his back yard in Macon. He had so many cars the city made him erect...I said erect...lol...an eight foot fence all around the back yard so the neighbors couldn't see the cars. One of them was a 69 Mach1 with a SCJ 428, shaker hood and 4 speed. The car at the time has less than 40K on the clock. Had been sitting long enough it needed a little work to get it back running. So me and some of the guys he knew from hangin out with us went over one weekend and got that bad boy running. He took us all for a ride. All seven of us piled in it. It was still on Firestone Wide Oval bias ply tires. We went around the neighborhood and git it up to temp good and he came back in front of the house and says "all you punks get wheels around right hand turns like pussies, here's how you do a burnout" and dropped the clutch and romped it. It felt like that thing stood up a foot on all four corners, but it baked those rotten *** tires to pieces. There were chunks of rubber in the road. I don't know where that car is now, but a guy none of us hung out with went by there and talked him out of it cheap. He promised him that he would keep it forever and restore it. Two weeks after he bought it, he cleaned it up and flipped it for big money. Nobody ever liked that guy.Believe me, when he gets on it the height will be just right.
