Motor Works, Spokane, Washington?

Anyone familiar with Motor Works out in Spokane, Washington? They advertise a 378 hp 360 crate engine for a little over $3600. My other crate engine searches were closer to $5000 and up. Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

I haven't dealt with anyone like that for years. Sorry. I always thought they were more of a "basic rebuilder" IE not really high quality, but things change, for the worse, for the better.

You are in Missouri? Lord, I'd think you'd eat up a fair amount of the difference just in shipping. LONG *** ways to ship!!!

Thanks for the info. The cost of shipping is $220 right to my garage door. I'll keep checking.

Agree with the shiping expense,especially if there is a warrantee problem and you end up having to ship that motor back. Could get real expensive. I'd find somone local with a good reputation.

What a great forum. Good advice. If I had to pick only one Mopar I could have for the rest of my life, the 70 Dart would be in my top 3 of choices. Awesome car.

Your welcome! I have the same issue here with no real race engine builders close by. The closest one is a 4 hr drive.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at crate motors and they are expensive. I'd love to have a stroker but may not be able to swing it. The place out in Washington remanufactures the 360. It is not a stroker but not stock either (378 hp on the dyno is what they claim). The cost of the motor, plus shipping is still quite a bit cheaper than a crate and way cheaper than a stroker. I intend to drive mine to work every day. If this all comes together, I am putting a 318 4-barrel pie tin on the air cleaner and telling the local Chivvy/Ford people it's a 318. Greed in the Mopar world??? I have found Mopar stuff cheaper at car shows/swap meets that were predominantly for Chevy and Fords than at Mopar meets. Way cheaper.

The thing is, there should be a similar business right in your back yard, or at least on your end of the country. There is nothing special about Motorworks, that cannot be duplicated by any number of engine shops.

Thanks for the great advice. I have to agree with you on this and will start my search. It's not something I have to do right away (money) but I want to start planning.

Lol,I'm thinking that there was a really good mechanic who was also a member here until a few days ago. I bet he could build you one hell of a motor for less than what most machine shops would charge. He is in Georgia,dont really know how close that is to you.He is a super nice guy,and very,very knowledgeable.
