Moving my Business.New location Build

-
Congrats on the move up..good to see someone doing what they love for a living.....

We got 3/4 of shop painted today.
Left Charlie alone at the shop in the afternoon, while Tim and I ,ran the old location.
Charlie did as I told him and painted himself out of the shop and now he could not lock the doors,he reported back to me and said he could not walk out either office, main one has it second coat and the other he can not get to because it is painted with a fresh coat.
I went after work and locked office doors and the garage door that he could not lock from the inside has a handle on the outside,so problem solved....
It will be dry enough to second coat what has been painted, tomorrow.
So no pictures,I am temporarily unable to enter my shop.
Kind of a good thing, get some sleep and hit it again tomorrow.

You are making good progress just keep banging away you will make it. But if your like me it will be an 11th hour push.
I have been trying to avoid it,but the last 24 hr are going to be the hardest...

Thanks, Love it and Hate it sometimes but it is my calling...

Got my 65 chevy pickup moved to my house.
Here is other trailer and what is left of the ranger, plus all scrap metal in the shop.
Decided to postpone moving the 74 Dart to my house, too many vehicles already there,I will move it to the new shop when the floors are cured.
Went to Sherwin Williams and got more Epoxy paint and reducer.
I got a second coat on all that was painted yesterday.
Need to finish scrapping 1/4 of the shop,to remove tile glue.
Will rent floor sander one more time after work Monday.
Tomorrow I will move all my equipment that is not used everyday.
Welder, torch, old a/c machine and other stuff and store in extra office or should I say Tool and Equipment room...
Will also move compressors and all 220 wiring, since Tim has a back up compressor.
One week and one weekend left.
I can do it.

Been very busy, scraped all metal that was on my trailer, mainly ranger yesterday and took what would not fit today in my truck. Here are some pictures of the old horse barn stalls and all the junk and equipment that has not been moved.
What a mess,4 3/4 years of pack ratting...
Off to Home Depot for some electrical stuff, will post picture of new location soon.

Me and my mechanic Tim used the stalls for our project stuff and that will not be going to the new shop.

Hey it looks good, you will get it done and be glad you did in the end so just keep plugging away. You should have seen the mess I went thru 10 years ago, we bought a dealership that had been run mom and pop style for 40 years, what a mess and collection of junk, I threw 20 thirty yard dumpsters worth of stuff away in the first month there. Learned if we don't use in 6 months it's gone sure helps keep the place manageable.

Anyway keep up the good work.

Been scrapping the metal and running the thrash threw my home service and my friends dumpster.
Being trying real hard to keep shop only stuff at the shop.
Wait till you see my 1997 Suburban that I bought for the Drive train to go under my 65 chevy one day.
I got packed it full of my junk and going to drive it home tomorrow and park in my backyard.
The shop will be opened Monday and we will be organizing for awhile...
I really could not be any happier, just tired....

Saturday moved my front counter, and everything else that was in the old shop front office. Tim showed up and put up all the chemical up on the shelves and found proper places for everything while I moved stuff from the old shop.
I also disassembled my other Lift to get ready to move with trailer but no extra hands to drop lift on to trailer.
We will move it Tuesday night, with Charlie and one other guy.

Spent Sunday wiring phone lines ,moving my inspection machine,
shop computer and my desk, while my friend Jake wired in my air compressor.
Realizing that it would not be all done,I cleaned up the shop of all thrash and got it ready for business.

Open the doors today and kind of winged it through the day...
Got to love AT&T for show up 4:30pm Friday and hooking up my 2 business lines and forgetting to hook up my DSL,the only way I order my parts from my suppliers...
One hour of my day to get them to realize their mistake...
Oh well, short ride to my house to get laptop and wireless internet and I was able to order parts needed.
I am not ready, signs are not installed,my other lift is still at the old location, and I need to clean out the old shop.
We are making money though,a few mechanical repairs and plenty of State Inspections.
No pictures this weekend, due to dead batteries but I snapped a few after work today.

TXDART............ congratulations on your move. I wish you the best of luck and trust me, I know luck has nothing to do with it! All your hard work will pay off! :thumblef:

what's the physical address? I'll put it in my smartphone and hopefully get to swing by as I'm all over the state on a regular basis.

Not much to report today, just a fire under AT&T TO GET MY DSL turned ON ... They really could care less about your situation...
Called Time -Warner about business package and may drop phone service and internet with AT&T altogether...
Emission Inspection machine went down this morning as soon as three customer showed up and had to call for service and was told that it would be Thursday.
I explained to the company that bar code reader was just replaced last week and it was not repaired properly and if it did not happen I would seek legal action and one hour later they had me up and running.
After work I mowed the grass at the old shop and hauled off one more truck load of thrash.
Tomorrow will leave Tim and Charlie to run the new shop and will see if I can get everything out of old shop.
I will not work this weekend and I will finish my move.
I maybe able to finally start working on my 1974 Dart on Saturday and of course spend the day with mom on Sunday .

that's what we did and haven't looked back... spending about the same dollarwise but getting better service (especially internet).

Thanks for information.
It will cost me a little more monthly but could not swing $150.00 install.
They finally located the problem on their side.
Finally I got DSL...I keep wonder what they had to do on their side...
Flip a switch? Up is on and down is off...Who knows?
I will be canceling my service in a few months and switching to Time-Warner.

Yesterday, was very slow day.No work,so we mounted the strut compressor on the wall and pulled in my 1996 Mazda B2300.
Pulled the motor and got the motor from the Ford ranger I scrapped, ready to install.
This is a low budget swap,so we replaced the timing belt, tensioner and water pump with new parts. We also, changed the oil pan gasket as well, because you can not change it without pulling the motor out on a ranger or mazda. The oil pan was pretty dirty and I took it to car wash to clean.
We got the motor in after swapping the better of the two clutches to the motor we are putting in.
A hour or two Monday and it will be running.
We were busy today.
In this line of work,as soon as you start on your projects, customers always seem to come in.We will take the work and especially when you have a bigger shop...Still could not be happier with my move.

Here are some pictures of the future shop truck.
