What distributor cap do these 4091140 MP performance distributors take? Are they findable? Looking for a long term distributor solution for small block without a vacuum advance module. Determining if MSD is the way to go or if replacement parts are gettable for the good older Mopar ones.

If its the tach drive race unit it needs the type with the tab that fits into the spring retainer notch.
Same as used on the prestolite dual points.
Rotor too.

Chrysler number 4091140 is a fixed advance, without vacuum advance canister, distributor originally equipped on 1977 and later 318 and 360 LA engines with Electronic Lean Burn (ELB), Electronic Spark Advance (ESA), and 1981 318 Imperial fuel injected engines.

The distributor cap used on the 4091140 distributor is the same as all other Chrysler car and light truck V-8 applications, 1972-1991. Caps for 1962-1972 Chrysler built single point V-8 applications can also be used, but the original cap material used is different with lower dielectric strength.

Original Chrysler cap numbers include:
1838514, 2444507, 4111640, 4176031, 4289875, 4289875AB

Some aftermarket replacement cap numbers include:
- NAPA/Echlin MO20 or MO2
- BWD C191P
- Borg Warner C191
- WVE 5D1089
- Airtex 5D1089
- Standard CH409 or CH409T, CH400 or CH400X
- Kem 1925 or 1925M
- Filko CH-74
- Niehoff AL61
- GP Sorensen CR309
- Guaranteed Parts CR-301
- Mopar CH-216
- Accel 120326

Thanks. I trusted the OP had the p-part number correct.

Small block P-part race distributor with no vacuum advance.
