i am starting to believe that shiny clear take apart filter is junk anyone else think this way

Your not the only one. I once had one where when I looked inside I could see shards of metal. I took it back and told them it'sdefective. Hopefully they threw it away. Also the plastic ends are known to leak. Complete junk.
