Any issues running a Blaster 2 with 0.8 ballast resister with stock electronic ignition and Dizzy?

If it is the 1.5 ohm blaster no.
Agree, been running one on the system you set up for me. Zero problems, you set my distributor up perfectly Hoppy. Very happy with Hoppy ignition

It's this one with 0.80 resistor. I thought that was recommended. Your saying 1.5? THX

Nope it will burn up the ecu.

Ken coils are misleading especially "universal" ones. GM like .3, ford is like .7 I think, Most mopar is 1.5 Have to do the research on them. Blasters come in all of those ratings, then get into say MSD etc gets confusing fast

I've got Blaster2 in both rides, so I'll have to get 1.50 ballasts then. I've been using the 0.80 ones. I'm glad I asked.
Which ones though? They make a few ratings usually on the label.

The MSD 8200MSD, or 8200, ignition coil has a 0.7 ohm primary resistance. With a 0.8 ohm resistor, and assuming ~12.5 volts DC at the Ignition RUN circuit, with the 8200 coil, static current through the switching transistor of the electronic control unit (ECU) will hit 8.3 amps. 8.3 amps will push the limits of a stock production Chrysler ECU, and exceed the current carrying capability of modern aftermarket ECUs leading to overheating and possible failure of the ECU. High Performance ECUs such as the Mopar Performance/Direct Connection P4120534, P4120600, or P3690256 can handle more current.
As a "rule of thumb", for the Chrysler ECU system, strive for a combined total resistance of the coil, ballast resistor, wiring, connections, and effective transistor resistance of two to three ohms total at 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. This limits the ECU switching transistor and coil primary current to about four to six amps peak. Although the transistor can actually sink more current in earlier Chrysler high performance and production ECUs,as well as earlier aftermarket ECUs, this conservative current level is easier on ECUs while still delivering adequate spark energy to the spark plugs.
If not using a stock or stock replacement coil, an Accel 8140, 8140C or Mallory 29219 ignition coil is a better match to the stock style Chrysler electronic ignition system. However, to keep the MSD 8200 with a stock type ECU, increase the value of the ballast resistor as earlier advised. Use a 1.2 - 1.5 ohm ballast resistor instead of the 0.8 ohm resistor.
