I have a 1964 barracuda that I'm using the MU1525-1 clutch from summit I opened the box and the metal clip that holds the bering to the body was messed up i fixed that seems ok and the bearing only sits on the release levers about a 1/16 of a inch is that ok and has anyone ran into this and is it ok

Is your clutch fork suspended on a pivot ball or flat fulcrum. I ask because I purchase a replacement Pioneer clutch fork that had similar issues with minimal contact with the throw-out bearing on a Dodge application, and the throw-out spun off the fork on a drive.

Something is wrong there, it won't work out, must figure it out. Or it's a GM part sold for a mopar.

Are you using the old bearing that fit the other clutch?

It's on a flat bracket not a ball and I just ordered all new everything Brewers

Look at the old clutch for the wear marks left by the TO bearing. Show us a picture of the old one, does it look like this?

No I haven't pulled it apart yet I'm going to tomorrow ill take pictures I'm thinking that when I bolt the clutch a pressure plate up it might move the fingers in if not I'm sending it back

The old one rides in the middle of the bearing the new one is only touching about 1/16 to a 1/8 of a inch on the outside of the bearing

Doesn't seem right, not a fun job to do it over again.
No it isn't and I just looked I paid for the zoom clutch that's $243 and they sent me the Perfection clutch that's $210 Summit is a joke I should've just bought the clutch from brewers and been done with it

Whatcha going to do now?

Good thing you looked this over and found out before it was in the car.

I'm going to call Summit on Monday because for whatever reason customer service is closed on the weekends that makes total since to me lol and if they don't want to make it right I'll just blast them on the internet I have a public account then I'll just eat it and buy it from Brewers
