Muffler and pipe metal?

I'd like to install a Magnaflow muffler on a system that is aluminized steel. The Magnaflow is only available in SS. Can this be welded together or will it be necessary to use clamps? Since both items are steel, will there be cathoding (dissimilar metals tend to rust when they are put together?

You can weld them together, but obviously the aluminized tubing and the welded area won't resist rust like the stainless will. No clamps should be necessary.

My exhaust system goes back and forth between SS three times. All welded and no problems.
