Got this all ready to go back in. Decided against the earlier knobs for lights/wipers and just stuck with the originals.
I modified a factory bezel to accept this gauge insert from NVU then sent the bezel out for restoration. I had this bezel restored by a company in the region called Vacuum Orna-metal. They do nice work!it's really nice to see those chrome bezels instead of the usual faded to white/cream ones

Got the 318 dyno numbers yet?I modified a factory bezel to accept this gauge insert from NVU then sent the bezel out for restoration. I had this bezel restored by a company in the region called Vacuum Orna-metal. They do nice work!
I did and now I'm building a 360Got the 318 dyno numbers yet?
I hope so! I will find out on my next fill up. It's supposed to help with sloshing fuel while cornering as well.Tell me more... does this help keep the pumps from pissing gas all over the side of your car?
I wrap a paper towel around the nozzle and hold it in place up against the car and pump on the lowest click. Takes a while to fill up but with the paper towel and slower pump speed, I rarely make a mess.Cool... Let me know how it works... I currently put my ear down by the Nozzle and try to hear when the fuel starts to come up the fill tube, but don't always succeed.
No fuel splash back today! I still wrapped with a paper towel and pumped on the slowest notch. I will try pumping at middle notch next time.Cool... Let me know how it works... Thank you! Still tinkering on it and building a different engine but it’s been a journey for sure.Great build thread. Your car turned out beautiful. Congratulations![]()

Nice clean install. What dipstick/tube did you go with?Tapped in the new oil dipstick tube using a nut and a piece of pipe. I put the tube in the freezer for about an hour ahead of time. I used a wire brush attachment for the drill to clean out the hole then put a little grease in to help lubricate. Once the nut made contact with the block, took off the pipe and nut and I just tapped the end of the tube to drive it the rest of the way home. Worked like a charm!
