Naw nobody thinks anybody's thick. Yeah you got it about right. The Chrysler corporation had nothing to do with NASCAR other than sponsoring teams with parts and money. Parts through hmmmmm......probably that far back Hustle Stuff and shortly thereafter Direct Connection. Those were the performance end of Chrysler back then. The NASCAR engines were different than what was available in what you could by from dealers too. Much higher performance parts. Then the race teams modified them even further through their own R&D......and a lot of times cheatin. LOL
