Any body go to the Nats in Columbus, hadnt been there in several years ,really was a bit disappointed , not many vendors as used to be , seemed like only half the cars that I remember, racing was ok , car corral was mostly junk.

I was there. I was selling locks and cutting keys.
I made some money, but nothing like Carlisle. It took me all weekend to make what I do at Carlisle in a day.
Most of the talk was MoParty is a much better show, and the Nats is dying off.
You're right, none of the big vendors came anymore, hell Chrysler doesn't even come anymore. I also agree about the car corral. Lots of overpriced crap.

We stopped going a few years ago for the same reasons.

Just returned, last night about midnight. We always have a good time over at the HDK display. It was too hot this year, to really leave our shaded areas. Thursday and most of Friday were okay, but it was brutal Friday afternoon and all day, yesterday. I got to see my good friends, went out to dinners at night, and displayed Krusty for the first time. That old Duster was a big hit. My favorite line about the car, came from a knowledgeable gentleman, who has a great and wide personal mopar history of his own variety of cars. He told me, "i know a cocky car when I see one. This is a cocky car." We all laughed, but he was spot-on.

My son and I went yesterday. Although very warm, we enjoyed it. The show seems to have lost some of the crowd over the years. The one vendor missing that I had mentioned to my son on the way home was Larry Sheppard and his Hemi display. The hand written sign of announcing the time for the fire up of the test engine still sticks in my mind. Met some great people, one gent had his 1970 340 duster there that he had ordered and still owned. All in all still a good time.

It's like the guy selling beef-jerky at a gun show. Too much non-related crap, ruins any type of show.

I swear there were more golf carts than cars. And 75% of the riders needed to walk a little more.

It was very warm. That was my only complaint. I only go to hang with my friends, and I really couldn't care much less about the cars.
It's a great excuse and common thread between us. Having the drag racing as a soundtrack, makes it great.
