I was wondering if anyone new what the best brakes would be for a 75' Duster. I am looking for something high performance but nothing over 1,500$.

Do you have disks on it now? Upgrade to 11.75 rotors.

What size rims are you going to run?

What is the suspension like on the rest of the car. If it's stock you won't be able to take much advantage of the improved brakes.

A '75 A body is an easy car to upgrade with better brakes because you already have the big upper ball joint on there. If you have disc brakes on the car now then just upgrade to the 11.75 rotor and 15 inch wheels and you'll have the best factory brake option possible.

If you have drum brakes then you can buy the Viper adapter kit from Mancini Racing (part number AR011). Then you just slide on the 11.75 rotors and find a set of Viper calipers.

There are plenty of other kits too that are well within your budget. For $1500 you can buy a 13 inch brake kit but you would also need to get 17 inch rims if you go that way.

I'm going with the slotted 11.75 rotors from RotorPros, with Bendix Ceramic pads and stainless steel braided brake lines.

My other upgrade is to the Jeep Grand Cherokee 11" rear disc setup on my 8.25 rear end.

I always wanted to hang the C body 11.75 x 1.250 rotor on the spindle and then use a Viper caliper. I figured that would be a killer setup that would still fit under a 15 inch rim. It is possible to do with a little machine work but I've just never gone ahead and done it.

I would stay away from slotted rotors.

#1….. They do nothing

#2….. They can not be turned.
